Makadi Bay is usually the warmest destination in this comparison. Playa Blanca is often among the driest, while Paphos and Side tend to retain the warmest seawater after summer. The weather differences shape the holiday
The table shows historical October averages, not a forecast. Compare daytime and evening air, sea temperature, rain days and sunshine together. Wind is not a separate column, but it can make exposed beaches in the Canary Islands feel noticeably cooler.

Paphos and Side are best if warm seawater matters and you can accept that an autumn week may include cloud or rain. Early October is often a safer choice than the end of the month, but monthly figures cannot describe one particular week.
Costa Adeje, Puerto Rico and Playa Blanca are better choices when dependable outdoor weather matters more than the highest temperature. Puerto Rico is sheltered but hilly. Playa Blanca suits a quieter resort break, while Costa Adeje has a wider hotel and restaurant choice. Local conditions on one island can vary more than the monthly values suggest.
Makadi Bay is best for a holiday centred on the hotel, pool and sea. The journey is longer, and you should check board, beach, pools and the exact inclusions. Avoid a hotel-based Egypt trip if you would rather explore a conventional resort on foot each evening.
Choose the hotel for the way you will travel
For families, warm weather is only the starting point. Check the room layout, children's pool, beach type, meals and transfer in the actual offer. Do not assume that a pool is heated. Couples may put more weight on the setting, restaurants and places to go in the evening than on a small temperature difference.
October overlaps with Norwegian school holidays. If you can move the departure by a few days or use another airport, you may find more choice. Compare the total for the whole travel party and the package inclusions before deciding which offer is cheapest.
