Egypt is warmest, Cape Verde is driest, and the Canary Islands are easiest
Makadi Bay and Sharm el Sheikh are usually the warmest options in this comparison, and the Red Sea also has the warmest water. Santa Maria in Cape Verde is often among the driest choices, but wind and a longer flight are clear compromises. Southern Gran Canaria or Tenerife is the best practical choice for many travellers from Norway because the flight and hotel selection is usually broader. Choose Egypt when heat and swimming come first, Cape Verde for dry weather, and the Canary Islands for a balance of conditions, journey time and choice.

The Canary Islands provide the easiest overall package
Puerto Rico is sheltered and best for a straightforward sun-and-pool break, but the resort is hilly. Playa del Ingles is better for a long beach, restaurants and a livelier setting. Costa Adeje has a broad hotel choice and many family activities, though popular areas may cost more.
Playa Blanca is best for a quieter resort and promenade. Caleta de Fuste has a short transfer and an easy layout, but wind can make the beach feel cooler. On every island, northern and southern coasts can have different conditions on the same day.
Egypt brings more heat but makes the hotel choice more important
Makadi Bay and Sharm el Sheikh are best for travellers who prioritise warm water and expect to spend plenty of time at the hotel. Compare meals, beach, pools, transfer and what lies outside the grounds. Avoid this style of trip if you want to walk between many local restaurants and different neighbourhoods each evening.
Cape Verde suits a dry and breezy beach week
Santa Maria provides a southerly option with little rain in its historical November pattern. Choose it if a beach, hotel and slow pace are enough. Look elsewhere if you dislike wind, want a shorter flight or need a broad range of resorts and outings.
Choose on more than the highest temperature
Families should verify pool heating, room layout, meals, beach conditions and flight times. Couples may care more about restaurants, outings and how easy it is to get around. Darker evenings make sensible flight times particularly valuable on a short November trip.
