Family-friendly package holidays for every age
Practical advice for holidays with toddlers, school-age children or teenagers, with current family prices and package deals.
Choose a destination for the children’s ages
With a baby or toddler, Alcudia is a useful place to start because its gently shelving beaches can make swimming easier. Still check the transfer and the route from the hotel to the beach. For school-age children, Side is worth considering when pools, activities and time at the hotel matter most, though the airport transfer can be long. Costa Adeje gives teenagers more activities, shops and places they can walk to, but popular hotel areas may cost more. Choose the hotel and room for your family’s routine, not just the “family-friendly” label.
No package matched every selected criterion. Price and availability can change.
Set the priorities for your family
The initial search is for two adults and children aged 5 and 9, staying 6–9 nights in destinations with a family-friendly area profile during the next 180 days. The total for the whole family matters most. The per-person price is included only as a comparison. Prices and room availability can change until the operator confirms the booking.
Choose the departure airport, children’s actual ages, dates and duration first. Board and hotel standard are available under more filters. Your choices update the prices, destinations and link to the full search.
Broaden one part of the search at a time. We do not present an alternative price as an exact match.

Destinations with a family price and clear trade-offs
The cards show a current from-price for exactly the same search, or a clear message when no package matches. Use the fit reason as a first filter, then open the permanent destination guide to learn more about the area. A family-friendly area does not mean every hotel there has a children’s pool, suitable rooms or easy beach access.
What to check before booking
Start with the total family price, departure airport, dates, number of nights and board. Then check that the price covers the right room type, and whether luggage and transfer are included.
Toddlers need simple logistics and a separate sleeping area
For babies and pre-school children, day-to-day logistics often matter more than the number of activities. Short routes between the room, pool, restaurant and beach make naps, meals and breaks easier. “Near the beach” is not enough if the route has traffic, steep steps or surfaces that are difficult with a pushchair.
Check the room plan, not only the room name. A family room may be one room with extra beds, while an apartment or suite may have a door between sleeping areas. Confirm where a cot can stand, whether it costs extra and whether the balcony or terrace remains usable after the children are asleep.
At the pool, shade, a clear view and a shallow children’s area can matter more than size. Outside the main season, confirm any pool heating for your actual dates. A gently shelving beach helps with young children, but also check waves, wind, the seabed and how quickly the water gets deep.
School-age children get more from pools, beaches and activities
Choose according to how the family will actually spend its days. A larger resort hotel with pools, sport and activities may justify a higher price if you expect to stay on site. Avoid an isolated hotel if you want to walk to the beach, shops or restaurants without taking a taxi.
All inclusive can make the food budget easier to predict when the children eat often and the family spends much of the day at the hotel. Breakfast only or an apartment may suit you better if you plan to eat out. Compare what is actually included: drinks, snacks and serving times vary, and allergy requirements must be checked with the hotel or operator.
Teenagers need freedom, space and something beyond the hotel
Teenagers often care more about reliable Wi-Fi, sport, shops, excursions and being able to walk around independently. A quiet family hotel far from the centre may therefore be a weaker choice than a simpler hotel in a useful location. Check whether the extra bed suits a tall teenager and whether four people will share one open room.
Include teenagers before using the filters. Agree whether the beach, pool, sport, town life or independent activities matter most. This helps you avoid paying extra for a kids’ club and water slides the family will not use.
Transfers, flight times and the total decide whether a deal is good
Compare the whole journey from home to the hotel room. A low package price may be less attractive if you need an airport hotel before departure, or if the transfer bus takes a long time and makes many stops. For a late arrival, check whether food is available and how check-in works.
Use the total for the whole party. Add the luggage, seating, transfer, meals and room arrangement the family needs before comparing. Sydenkupp displays and compares packages, while the operator confirms the final contents, price, availability and booking.
How we assess family-friendly options
- Destinations come from Sydenkupp’s area profile for family-friendly places. The profile describes the area, not every hotel.
- Hotel facilities, distances, rooms, board and prices use available catalogue and offer data. Missing details are not filled with assumptions.
- Prices apply to the choices shown with the results and the time labelled “Last checked”. The editorial “Updated” date applies to the text, not the prices.
- Read the EU guidance on package travel for rights that normally apply to a package holiday.
